These jQuery in place editors make your forms many folds amiable for the users. Here I would like to present a round up on the various jQuery in place editors available.</p>

<p>1. <a title="Link to Jeditable – Edit in place plugin for jQuery" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/jquery-data-plugins-jquery-plugins/jeditable-edit-in-place-plugin-for-jquery/">Jeditable – Edit in place plugin for jQuery</a></p>
<p><img title="Jeditable" src="http://www.jquery.wisdomplug.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Jeditable.JPG" alt="Jeditable" width="347" height="195" /></p>
<p>This is an in place editor with a lot of flexibility, but this lacks the much sought hover effect.</p>
<p>2. <a title="Link to jquery-in-place-editor" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/jquery-data-plugins-jquery-plugins/jquery-in-place-editor/">jquery-in-place-editor</a></p>
<p><img title="jquery-in-place-editor" src="http://www.jquery.wisdomplug.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/jquery-in-place-editor.JPG" alt="jquery-in-place-editor" width="517" height="158" /></p>
<p>Another In-Place Editor is a jQuery plugin that turns any element or group of elements into an Ajax in-place editor using only one line of code. It’s written using the jQuery Library, which is available free at http://jquery.com. I saw this on Flickr a while back and I thought it was really great how you can update the title and description of a photo without having to go to an admin page.</p>
<p>3. <a title="Link to jQuery Tutorial – Create Edit in Place with Ajax" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/jquery-data-plugins-jquery-plugins/jquery-tutorial-create-edit-in-place-with-ajax/">jQuery Tutorial – Create Edit in Place with Ajax</a></p>

<p>4. <a title="Link to jQuery in-place-edit Plugin – An Easy-to-use and Customizable in-place Edit Plugin" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/jquery-data-plugins-jquery-plugins/jquery-in-place-edit-plugin-an-easy-to-use-and-customizable-in-place-edit-plugin/">jQuery in-place-edit Plugin – An Easy-to-use and Customizable in-place Edit Plugin</a></p>

<p>The jQuery in-place-edit plugin is an easy-to-use and customizable in-place edit plugin.</p>
<p>5. <a title="Link to akeditable: Jquery inplace editor Plugin" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/akeditable-jquery-inplace-editor-plugin/">akeditable: Jquery inplace editor Plugin</a></p>
<p><img src="http://www.jquery.wisdomplug.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/wpid-akeditable-Jquery-inplace-editor-Plugin.png" alt="" /></p>
<p>This is the plugin based on jEditable plugin created by Tuupola and Dylan Verheul. The purpose of create this plugin was to specifically solve the problem that i was facing, ie to give my users option button to save and or cancel, instead of using enter to save the content.</p>
<p><strong>Conclusion:</strong></p>
<p>Based on a look at all these jQuery In Place Editors, I found, Jeditable to be a very amicable editor, except for the hover effect. Therefore, keeping in view, the usability and amiability, I chose <a title="Link to jQuery in-place-edit Plugin – An Easy-to-use and Customizable in-place Edit Plugin" rel="bookmark" href="../jquery-plugins/jquery-data-plugins-jquery-plugins/jquery-in-place-edit-plugin-an-easy-to-use-and-customizable-in-place-edit-plugin/">jQuery in-place-edit Plugin</a> as my personal favorite.</p>

Some Features</p>
<p>* Esc key will cancel an active editor<br />
* On blur will by default cause the editor to submit the value to the server. This can be overridden to cancel the submission.<br />
* Submit to a callback function to handle the in-place submission, rather than submitting to a URL<br />
* Optional validation of a blank field; By default if the field is blank, the form won’t submit and the user will receive an alert<br />
